Dear Like-Hearted Ravers,
It was a week ago today that I stepped out of that airplane, haggard, exhausted, barely able to carry myself, let alone my bags. My physical image however had no indication that my heart was swollen with happiness, my head was bombarded with memories, and my soul felt a sense of fulfilment I had longed for. This year I made my second trip down to Electric Daisy Carnival, alongside 9 buddies; we raged like our lives depended on it. Of the entire group the only veterans were myself and my buddy Josh, the rest were festival newborns, unsure of what to expect, and not realizing that their entire outlook on raving was about to change forever.
The ages in the group ranged from 21-35, and the majority of these guys came there as my friends, and so they knew little about each other. This however did not change the fact that by the end of Day 3 at EDC, there was a sense of brotherhood amongst the entire group. Josh and I, being the experienced EDC-goers had been in charge of the 'loose itinerary' of the trip. For a trip that requires that amount of energy, planning is key to a successful experience. We made sure we mixed up the artists we saw at the speedway so the group could get a good feel for the different styles within the broad world of EDM.
We got to the grounds early on the first and third day, we also got the group to come in through the grand-stands side at night on day 2 to allow them to see the breath-taking view. I made sure to grab our group a locker which allowed it to being a great meet-up spot for every time we broke apart and meet new people. We got to go on the swings, get a taste of the variety of food options, visit the art installations, dress up in costumes and enjoy a mix of every stage. And of course, we raged, and raged, and raged!
Ultimately I will admit, the greatest part of my trip had to have been when Josh and I were individually thanked by each and every one of our buddies (all while them reiterating how next year will be even better!). This really struck a chord because to me, watching others fall in love with something I am over-the-moon passionate about makes me feel like I am completing an unspoken task. EDM resonates deep within me, every single day, and I feel that it only makes sense that I make it my mission to share my love for it. This website has been created equally for the die-hard ragers, to the newbies alike. It's mission is to Rave It Forward, and to spread the message of PLUR. I welcome you all to my world, and hope that I continue to grow and inspire alongside you all.
Peace. Love. Unity. Respect.
